Fazenda da Esperança: A Unique Community for Drug Rehabilitation

Fazenda da Esperança is a Catholic community that is taking care of young drug and alcohol addicts, trying to show them a new way of life by living each day according to the gospel.

Rehabilitation at Fazenda da Esperança is very simple. It is based on three basic points:

• Community Life: Living together in family-like groups, we want to discover together the strength and joy coming from the life of a Christian community.

• Spirituality: Together we try to live according to God’s words, letting him be the power that changes our lives.

• Work: The community works together to earn the money we need for our daily life. In this way, we learn how to be responsible for ourselves, and discover the joy and dignity of work.
